Team Reflections

China Team member Sarah Ago (USA) shares her thoughts:

‘I had an incredible trip with International China Concern in January 2008. It has been somewhat of a struggle to be back home and I find myself remembering China with great joy and longing. The times with the children, the team, and the experiences in the culture were truly unforgettable.

The majority of my time was spent with teenage and adult young women at the welfare center. The girls in the room where I worked touched my life in amazing ways. I have never had anyone get so excited to see me walk into a room! One little girl would literally shake with delight when our team came to work with the children each day. I will never forget the worth that she bestowed on me by that simple, yet profound expression of love.

I feel that I am truly the recipient of this trip. I did something small for the children, but they did something great for me. They were the vessels of refreshment, peace, and joy in the midst of the chaos of life. They were used by God to allow me to experience Him in a depth and fullness that I have not experienced before. I am so thankful to have been touched by those most precious to Him.

If you want to experience Jesus, find a patch of dirt to sit in with the poor, the used up, and the broken. Look for Him in the least expected places. He is there, waiting to be discovered. It was my joy to discover Him in China’s little ones and to see the way that International China Concern ensures the celebration of each of their lives.’
