Sponsor

The needs of China’s abandoned and disabled can seem overwhelming. But you can make a difference by becoming a sponsor parent with International China Concern. Sponsorship not only changes lives in China, it may change your life too.

Our Programme

We believe care is for life. Those in our care range widely in age and ability. As well as a safe and loving home we provide therapy, education, food and clothing and medical attention. We train and provide sufficient Chinese employees to ensure the best possible care. But care for life is about much more than meeting daily needs. We seek to empower and equip, teaching valuable life skills and enabling each person to be as independent as possible.

The costs are more than a single sponsor parent could normally provide, so each of our children and young people has up to 10 sponsors. Our programme allows you to partner with others around the world, bringing love, hope and opportunity to China’s abandoned and disabled.

Why Sponsor?

Many of our children and young adults simply want to be part of a family. By becoming a sponsor parent, you have the opportunity to fulfil this dream.

Here’s what some of our sponsor parents have to say:

“We wish we’d known about ICC years ago, so that we could have been doing something constructive for the country our adopted daughter comes from.” – The Allen Family, UK

“We adopted our daughter, Sarah, from China. Through International China Concern we’re now a sponsor family to those who are in need. It’s exciting for all of our family to get the photos and updates on these children and good to see how our donations and prayers can help another child. I only wish that all the children could find their forever family.” – The Cornell Family, USA.

Building a Relationship

Once we’ve received your form we’ll send you an information pack, including an introduction to your sponsor child and a photograph. If you’ve indicated preferences as to age or sex, we’ll take these into account. Otherwise, we’ll select someone most in need of sponsor parents.

We’ll also send you address labels so you can write, send birthday cards and send photographs of you and your family and friends. This is a lovely way to build your relationship.

If you would like to send gifts, please keep them small and simple. Some receive more gifts than others and this can create problems. If in doubt, contact us.

What Sponsorship Means To Me!

Sixteen year old Wang Hua shares how her sponsor parents have made a difference:

“My sponsor parents often send me cards and presents for my birthday and at Christmas. I really enjoy receiving them. It makes me very happy that people I’ve never met know the date of my birthday and think about me.

One of my sponsor parents came to visit me. We had a lovely time together. I’d love to meet all my sponsor parents so I can thank them for the way they’ve been so good to me. They’d see how tall I’ve grown, and I’d tell them all about swimming at Summer Camp. I’d also love to talk with them about my dreams to go to school, to learn to draw better and to use the computer, just like any girl would talk to her parents.”
